Deborah stepped into the role of Superintendent for the Stanwood-Camano School District on July 1, 2021. 

 

Deborah has been in education for 18 years. She started as a science teacher at Auburn Riverside High School in the Auburn School District in 2003, and moved into the role of Assistant Principal at Kentwood High School in the Kent School District in 2010. In 2013, Deborah joined Highline Public Schools as a Principal, followed by Executive Director, Human Resources, and then assumed an added role of Instructional Leadership Area Supervisor, Secondary Schools, through 2021. 

 

Deborah holds a Bachelors of Arts in Education from Pacific Lutheran University, and a Masters in Educational Leadership. In addition, she holds a Doctoral degree from Seattle Pacific University where she not only obtained her Doctoral degree in Executive Leadership but her Superintendent Certificate as well.

 

Deborah and her husband, Wayne, reside on Camano Island and have nine grown children. They enjoy spending time with their family and exploring the many things to do in the local area.
